Fourth cup of coffee for the morning, she went on to note as she eyed Kit - but who was counting, she went on to silently mock.

Her thoughts tumbled to Tyler again as she turned and watched Kit pour out the coffee.

Two days ago Tyler had been crestfallen, Silver unable to get away from the hospital due to a temporary staff shortage in the ER. She had encouraged him to head to Veracruz, adjusting her plans to join him in a week.

Then only last evening she'd dropped by a local bistro to enjoy a late evening snack with two of the nurses who worked in the ER. As a joke, she'd tossed a penny into the wishing well centered in the outdoor gardens of the bistro, then everything started to shift.

" Lead me to my true love and do it with haste!" she had giggled, tossing the penny into the well as her friends looked on with smiling faces.

A call came shortly thereafter, informing Silver that she was free to take off on her well-needed vacation as the hospital had remedied the staff shortage issue.

Good timing, too for Kit had just completed the ensemble of pearls for Senor Antonio DeAigo, a long-standing friend - a commercial fisherman he'd met during one of his treks to his beach house in Veracruz years ago. The friendship had grown over the years as Kit was a frequent tourist. In fact, he seemed to be spending more and more time there as Silver was tied up in her responsibilities. He also thoroughly enjoyed the relaxing, lazy atmosphere of Mexico. She supposed that one day soon, he would relocate there permanently.
