The man by her side was just as striking, his eyes a very deep shade of blue. His best feature, she silently considered as she continued to appreciate them - perhaps a tab too long. And when he looked at her, they seemed to penetrate into her very soul, Silver a bit disturbed by the realization.

The room grew suddenly silent and she assumed that he must be owner of the hacienda as he offered her a warm welcome in a smooth flow of Spanish.

A long pause followed and it was evident that they were all courteously waiting for a response from her. Couldn't anyone speak English? she silently panicked. Where was the nice lady named Conchita?

Not wishing to offend them by her silence, she hesitantly formed a reply. " Gracias para hospitalidad."

She paused, the man who had welcomed her flashing a charming white smile to which the senorita by his side silently disapproved, for she twisted her lovely face into a scowl.

Perhaps Silver had only imagined such for the woman was waving the fan quite fast. And since her confrontation with Tyler, she was a bit on edge.

Obviously, her response was warmly received by the three gentleman for they were all grinning from ear to ear. So squaring her shoulders with newfound confidence, she continued in a bolder tone of voice as she addressed the man she had assumed to be the owner of the hacienda, " Usted hermoso er...halcon!"
