Silver exited the car, clasping the leather case that held the pearl ensemble.

She should have felt a bit apprehensive about meeting the stranger Antonio DeAigo, but she really didn't. Perhaps her ordeal with Tyler had completely deadened her emotions, she decided as she walked towards the massive door.

The door was answered almost immediately by a plump, wrinkled woman dressed in white whose eyes sparkled when they rested on Silver.

"Ah! The English woman! Come in, little pajaro. We have been expecting you," she informed and Silver was suddenly jerked inside then led to a monstrous room that she assumed was used for entertaining. The area was larger than Kit's entire house.

While she tried to absorb the beauty of the room, the woman informed, "I am Conchita, the overseer of the DeAigo house. My English, it is rusty, but you no mind, no?"

Silver turned and sought the friendly face with the sparkling eyes.

Then she smiled, shaking her head. "No, of course not."

Conchita beamed a bright smile. "Good. But no worry. The DeAigo's speak fluent English, you will see."
