A Innocent Horror Story

Once upon a time there lived a sweet werewolf and a cranky old gypsy.

The werewolf had come to accept his curse with time, deciding to make the best out of a bad situation.

No sense in remaining bitter about his wolf curse and full moons. He had learned to deal with his situation one moment at a time.

The gypsy had always been cranky. He had been born cranky and perhaps would have faired better in the corporate world rather than the world down under.

The life of a gypsy wasn't a smooth ride. Besides, he didn't have time to be happy. He'd be happy when he was dead. There was too much to do right now between coaxing in customers and peddling tonics that didn't work.

One bright afternoon he was pitching his tonics when the werewolf happened by.

Of course, he appeared to be a young man rather than a wolf because werewolves are only werewolves under the light of a full moon.

"Young fellow, this tonic will cure anything," the gypsy promised him. "From curing warts to curing diseases under the chest."

The werewolf lifted his eyebrows.

"Really? Well.....what about a tonic for removing curses?" he plied, hoping that the gypsy didn't pry.

"This tonic will do just that," the gypsy promised.

"And how much would that cost me?" the werewolf asked.

"How much ya got?" the gypsy wanted to know.

"Not much.....only this," he eased out, holding out a paltry amount to the gypsy.

"Get out of here!" the gypsy spat out in a disgusted tone. "And don't come back until you have ten times that amount!"

"But...but it's all that I have," the werewolf explained.

He sighed deeply, then slipped his grandfather's watch from his pocket.

"Would you consider this for payment?" he bargained, convinced that the tonic might hold the cure to his curse. After all, the gypsy seemed very convinced of such.

The cranky gypsy yanked the watch out of the werewolf's hand, breaking the chain in the process.

"This will do - and all the money you have too," he said, his tone sharp and cruel.

He practically tossed the tonic to the werewolf, the bottle almost falling to the ground and shattering.

The werewolf looked at him and eased out, "You're not a very happy man, are you?"

The gypsy narrowed his beady eyes at him and mocked, "Happy? Happy?? I don't have time to be happy!" he yelled out, pointing to the watch as he spoke. "I'll be happy when I'm dead! Now - go away! I'm after paying customers, understand - not charity cases like you!"

On the first night of a full moon, the werewolf drank the entire bottle of tonic, just as the side of the bottle  had prescribed.

Unfortunately, the tonic did nothing to stop his transformation.

The werewolf went into a fitful mode of vengeance, wanting revenge.

Two hours later, he had located the cranky gypsy who had swindled him from all of his money, as well as his grandfather's watch.

As the gypsy caught sight of the werewolf - now fully transformed from man to wolf, he looked a bit fearful as he managed to ease out, "You? What do you want? I-I don't have time for this!"

As the werewolf sucked out the gypsy's last breath, he told him in a light tone, "Time to be happy, gypsy...."
