She struggled with the window glass, discovering that it was still nailed shut from the autumn hurricane season.  A hammer was tucked away in a large wooden box labeled 'Tools' in one corner of the kitchen and shortly, she managed to pluck out the nails and hoist up the window glass.  It proved difficult to secure, but she was rewarded for her efforts with the scent of salt-spray filtering through the window.  

As she viewed the beach she saw great whitecaps rolling in from the sea and as they broke, the sound mixed with the shrill voices of the excited children.  Pleasant....so pleasant.  The beach house was a wonderful getaway - one that she intended to fully enjoy before returning to the human rat race.

Her eyes widened as a stranger appeared on the scene.  He was supporting black swim trunks, his long legs knitted with sun-bleached blond hair.  Something was wrong for he was waving his arms angrily at the children looking like a ridiculous clock out of control.

Little Jan stood up, then rushed towards him - confronting him, her anger obvious.  Jan liked to argue and she held a sand shovel in her hand and Tara knew darn well that she would use it as an effective weapon if necessary. The angelic face was mashed into fury and her tiny round mouth was working rather swiftly.

Idiot!  How dare this stranger accost innocent children!
