The following morning the children awoke ready to set sail.

"But I want to take Poindexter," Justin argued with Tara.  "He gets lonely, you know - and we're suppose to keep an eye on his gas problem."

"Not this time," Tara told him.  "And Poindexter is just fine now.  In fact, he needs his rest.  We'll be back before lunch time and by then, he should be all rested and ready to play with you.  Maybe we can take him on the beach and build him a sandcastle-"

"Not the beach, Auntie!" Mickey rushed out, his lip the makings of a bawl-fest.  "Not with a mean monster running loose."

"Fine," Tara eased out, not wanting their day marred by the hateful stranger from yesterday.  "We'll play inside after our rendezvous."

It was a short walk down the beach to the pier where The White Ghost was docked.  The children yelled and ran at the sea gulls feasting on fishermen's scraps along the edge of the beach as Tara drank in the fresh scent of the sea.
