Night sounds were born from the dusk and the whippoorwill announced his first nocturnal call of the night. Daylight had fallen and a generous shaker of stars lay sprinkled over the dark black sky. The Milky Way was clearly visible as it was on most nights, and the clarity of the sky promised to hold cooler temperatures, a welcomed relief from the hot and humid day. Due to the intense heat of the day she had situated her cooking station outside of the cabin. No need to add to the heat. She stayed far longer than she had anticipated preparing the stew which wasn't exactly smart. What if the evil-doers returned to ensure that their discarded baggage was sure-fire dead? Outside the heavens above, the cabin held the only flicker of light for miles and miles and miles. Then again, perhaps their intentions had been to erase their mistake - nothing as evil as Kimber had originally considered. Idiot?
