It wasn't the time to delve deeper into the matter, he decided while allowing her to lead him along the primrose path to Margo's dinner table, no doubt spread with her specialty of the house in honor of Kimber. Kimber reached for the handle on her door, preparing to head towards the dining room, her stomach in fifty different sailor knots. Not from hunger, but from the anxiety of having to face Dixon and Dakota once again. She feared the outcome of their powwow. Would she find a cozy couple? Or did she still have a shot with Dakota? Why did dinner have to come so swiftly? She barely had time to give her room a good look before freshening- up. Linda greeted her warmly, lending a compliment over her strapless cotton dress hemmed with yellow daisies. The compliment boosted Kimber's spirits as the older woman led her into the huge dining area decked out with rich wood stamped with horseshoe prints. The western look thickened as she glimpsed strands of barbwire bordering the ceiling. Kimber would have guessed that Margo's specialty would have been one of Italian origin, but instead she had prepared a Mexican feast. Enchiladas, fresh tortillas, con queso, homemade salsa and a basket of warmed chips - and it all looked delicious. A blond pudding topped with a caramel glaze was situated on one end of the large wooden table. Plenty of iced tea was harbored in stainless steel pitchers on the buffet table. Kimber avoided a deep analysis of 'the couple', choosing to concentrate on her meal. " Mm, this is absolutely delicious," she told Linda who appeared to be satisfied by the comment. Dakota drawled, " That's quite a compliment coming from you, Kimber." Then to his mother and Dixon, he elated, " I don't know many who can cook better, including you, Mother."
