Fifteen minutes later they were enjoying a comfortable breakfast, Kimber situated in the wicker chair, Dakota sitting up in the bed looking as comfortable as a child recovering from a bout of the measles.   Amigo was pawing at his plate of eggs and bacon, obviously a bit too hot to eat for the moment and Kimber felt guilty about that.   When she would have collected his plate, he backed away and busied himself with his favorite red ball.

Kimber felt as if she had broken the comfortable rapport between them when she innocently asked him, " Are you looking forward to marriage?"

But Dakota didn't act damaged by her question, rather put forth a challenge to her.   He dabbed his mouth with the white napkin, then eased out, " Tell you what.   Let's play a game.   It'll help pass the time."

" A-a game?"

" Um hum," he nodded.   " I'll answer a question about my fiancé  if you'll answer one about yours.   Game?"

Kimber's curiosity over this Dixon person got the better of her good senses.   " Game on," she agreed.

Dakota answered first.   " Truthfully, I suddenly find that I am not certain about this marriage thing.   Perhaps the accident has knocked some sense into my head."

She felt thrilled over his revelation for some reason but troubled by his unasked question to her.
