A short western romance by  Sky Taylor.

Ironfist - (170 pages) " My uncle is expecting me, Mr. Yates," she assured in a tight tone. " He said to come to the main house so you could direct me to his home. From what he explained, it is rather difficult to locate."

Banner muttered something inaudible under his breath then went to seat himself behind a large oak desk across from where she sat, observing her for what seemed an eternity.

What in the devil should he do with her, Banner silently considered.   It was becoming clearly obvious that she was unaware of what her uncle had done.   His heart went out to her for it was also obvious that she was poor the tattered dress, the worn shoes...   Click to continue

The Branding Iron, a short western romance - Act 4 - Page 48

"Goody!  A live Indian at the table," Nick laughed, sounding a bit like a jammed machine gun.  He suddenly grew silent, then crossed his arms saying, "Oh!  Um...How.  Good to meet you."

Sheraton wanted to crawl under her place mat.  She had assumed that Nick was intelligent.  He was an accountant, after all - her own chosen field.  Book smart; not street smart.

Sheraton sighed, running a fragile hand over her face and turning to give Brick a curious glance.  Surely he would put his moronic brother in place before a disaster unfolded.  Brick just looked at her, then calmly delivered a Snidely Whiplash grin.

Trent narrowed his eyes, seeing the barrage of glass for the first time.   He'd been too captivated with the lady stranger's backside to notice until now.

" Whoops, you're in trouble now," he eased out and he watched her stiffen.   Tall, too. He liked that.

" This isn't what it appears to be," she tried to explain, but he only waved her words aside. Click to continue

His glance swayed down to the case dangling in her small right hand, which he automatically bent to retrieve.   Maggie in her newfound anger immediately wrestled against him, sputtering out angry protests amid the short scuffle.   Without warning, the case popped open, the contents bursting into the air.

" Now look what you’ve done!" Travis convicted with malice.

" What?   Me?   You’re the idiot," she accused.

She stopped arguing instantly and stood in mystified horror as he began collecting the dainty, more personal objects and then started stuffing them into the open case.
