Sam had left her with a huge crystal decanter of Savage Musk as a token for the great sacrifice she was making for them. But evidently, Bronson Davis wasn't about to sacrifice anything for anyone she privately stewed, glancing at her wristwatch again.

"I'm hungry," Willie mumbled up to her, lying on the bench beside her.

Storm bit her lower lip in thought. They had completely emptied the stale vending machines in the depot. The surrounding town was small and had rolled in the sidewalks hours ago, shortly after they had arrived.

If not for the streetlights, they would have been cocooned in total darkness for the manager of the depot had shut off the lights before heading home, hours ago. Thankfully they had been allowed to wait inside, the owner boasting that there wasn't any crime to speak of in the small town - a bonus for the lonely way of life.
