The younger man scampered into the hills and suddenly Fester’s attention was drawn to where Maggie and Travis stood staring, like two Harpy eagles.

"Git down here!" he commanded, pointing the gun toward them, his face contorting under the long beard.

 

"It’s okay, Fester; it’s me – Maggie Walker!" she yelled out to him.

 

Fester pulled thoughtfully on the fuzzy beard, then his face ironed over with realization.

 

He met them on the hill where they were standing.  His beady eyes lingered on Maggie’s bare mid section, for she still wore the halter top from the evening before, then they glided hungrily to the hot breakfast.
