Sweeping a trembling hand over her ashen unblemished face, even the cool of the air conditioning was unable to settle her raw unleashed energy. And then she noticed him - the haunting reflection outlined behind her in the mirror. At first she thought that she was imagining things but as reality set in, she gasped and whirled to face him - her green eyes locked onto his familiar face. He was wearing mirrored glasses and her shocked image was but a shadow lodged within the black depths. A large hand reached out to steady her and she inwardly coiled, stepping back and evading his touch. “You okay, little lady? You look a bit pinched,” he drawled, removing the glasses to reveal eyes that resembled black empty pools. The flawless tanned complexion and the chiseled face were from a forgotten breed - one of nomadic frontiersmen, but his image was forever an impression on her rampant mind. “Don’t touch me,” Dyana tartly instructed, holding a hand to her throat as she was engulfed in another wave of nervousness. She could actually feel her heart beating there - in her throat, thumping wildly. Return to Previous Page Return to Page 1 of This Love Story
