The
Haunted Lighthouse by Sky Taylor
- Page 9
And
to be quite honest, she had been
overly-aggressive regarding the
diamond story. It had been Cooper's
story - lock, stock and barrel.
In fact, the prime reason that she'd
bolted forward had been an
effort to secure his attention.
"About
the storyline. How would you edit
it?" she asked in an attempt
to shift the mood. Perhaps some
brownie points could be made if
she succumbed a bit. For Cooper,
she could do that.
"Hum?"
he echoed, feeling a bit mummified
after the closeness with Dawn as
he watched her pull a compact out
of her dinky purse and flip it open.
A
surge of light flashed behind her,
Cooper simultaneously moving forward
in a protective stance - a bit shocked
over what he'd seen. An apparition,
no doubt. But he didn't believe
in ghosts.
Just
before he blurted out what he had
seen to Dawn, he realized his mistake
- the reflection of the compact
mirror responsible for the wild
flash of light.
"The
storyline," Dawn repeated,
dusting her face with the tiny powder
puff as she paused to clarify her
question.
