The
Haunted Lighthouse by Sky Taylor

Dawn
batted her eyes swiftly, not missing
the smirk pasted on one side of
Cooper's handsome mouth. What was
that mysterious quirk about? Obviously,
he knew something that she didn't.
And
his calm was appalling - almost
hero-like amid the looming threat.
Something was up. Perhaps a joke?
She wouldn't put something like
this past that dumb-witted Harvey.
Why, he was probably posted in the
top-deck laughing his dirty socks
off.
Now
that she'd solved the case of the
mysterious light, she moved away
from Cooper, squaring her shoulders
in the process. When she turned
to view him through the candlelight,
he looked a bit disappointed.
Yes
- she'd guessed correctly. He was
up to something alright. But this
time, his silly joke had backfired
on him.
"Is
everything okay?" she asked
as he appeared to be in a trance
as he stood over the camera, his
gaze fixed on her.
"Hum?
What?"
"You
look almost frightened," she
eased out, her voice revolving to
a soothing tone - as if she truly
cared.
