The
Haunted Lighthouse by Sky Taylor
- Page 6
Dawn
gazed upward and gasped, an eerie
light spilling down the spiral staircase
of the lighthouse. Two times they
had moved through the lighthouse
assuring that all the power was
cut, even choosing to operate their
equipment on batteries to drown
out any suspicions regarding the
validity of apparitions.
Drawing
a trembling hand to her throat,
she proposed, "Perhaps we have
a visitor."
"Perhaps
we have two visitors," Cooper
drawled, Dawn irritated at him for
taking the matter so lightly as
he secretly mocked her. That mysterious
spear of light was merely the reflection
of the harvest moon echoing off
the mirrors of the search light
located on the top deck of the lighthouse.
"Oh
stop it," she told him, not
sure if he were teasing or serious.
And
as she glanced upward, the eerie
light triggered a race in her heart.
"What
do you think caused that?"
she managed, her throat feeling
tight as she moved closer to Cooper.
"What....or
who?" he asked for verification,
finding it difficult not to break
out laughing. Oh, this was gold.
He couldn't wait to share the experience
with the team. Harvey would double
with laughter.
