The
Haunted Lighthouse by Sky Taylor

Dawn
pursed her lips, then in a curt
tone told him, "Yes, I realize
that Cooper. Just getting a leg
up, so to speak. Do you want to
hear the story, or not? If you like
it, we can go with it. If not, we'll
do a bit of editing on the fly."
Editing
on the fly, he silently mocked.
In other words, it was her story
or nothing.
Through
the creepy silence, she lifted her
brows and asked, "Well?"
"Sure,"
he drawled, returning his attention
to the equipment again and not wanting
to think about Dawn's leg being
up. Too sensuous for a night like
tonight. He'd do well to concentrate
on her mannish approach to reporting.
Dawn, the go-getter. Shame too,
because he would have preferred
Dawn, the go-go dancer.
In
a low, sultry voice she
began, "The lighthouse towered
above the raging sea through the
night sky like a white ghost wrapped
in time. Legend has it that Captain
Cantrel and his lady love, Angelina
frequent its bowels in search of
her lost necklace - a single pearl
collected by the Captain himself.
The
poignant trinket symbolizing their
love disappeared the night before
the couple mysteriously vanished
in the sea and to this day, if one is patient
they can glimpse the ghosts of the
Captain and Angelina wandering about
the lighthouse in search of their
lost treasure."
