lighthouse was spooky, and could
have presented a cozy setting for
romance. Nothing more opportune
than having a frightened lady in
your arms, especially one as beautiful
as Dawn - green eyes, olive skin,
a warm smile and a figure that could
blow one's eyeballs clean out of their
sockets.
Yeah
- he hoped that she was scared right
out of her panties right now. Only
he wasn't planning on doing any
coddling tonight.
Let
her tremble, let her rest in fear
- but not in his comforting arms
for he planned to snare the scoop
of the year - to prove whether the
lighthouse was haunted, or not.
Too
bad she'd horned in on the diamond
theft scandal - just as he'd been
prepared to break the story.
At
one time, he'd believed there had
been something between them - and
now he knew what it was. Competition.
Nothing to do with romance. It was
all about getting the story out
first - about being number uno.
And
the tension between them was obviously
the reason that the boss-man had
paired them on this assignment.
In fact, the entire team was getting
fed-up with the continuous squabbling.
Well,
at least he wasn't married to it....
