The
Haunted Lighthouse by Sky Taylor
- Page 12
When
he reached the point of no return,
he pulled her from him deciding
that he liked the sight of her swollen
lips through the flickering candlelight.
Dawn
touched her lips, then sat up and
began to run her fingers over her
hair in an attempt to rectify herself.
Her heart was dancing - for Cooper
truly cared for her!
Taking
her hands in his, he told her, "Dawn,
I need to tell you something-"
"I
know, darling," she cooed.
"I love you too."
Cooper
batted his eyes swiftly, realizing
in a state of shock that he felt
the same. However, that wasn't what
he had planned telling her. There
was the situation with the ghost
- as well as what lay safely lodged in
his leather binder resting on the
window seat - the story that they
would end up using, or else. Or
so, he'd previously thought. Right
now, he'd give his soul for this
woman.
Cooper
managed a wobbly smile, then nodded
and placed a kiss onto Dawn's forehead,
bringing her head to his chest.
"Rest
here, my darling," he coaxed.
"The stage is set, and the
night promises to be long. We'll
dance in our dreams once we get
out of here, come morning."
"K,"
she echoed, filled with the drunken
spirits of love.
