Under the Golden Moon by Sky Taylor

With effort he brought a hand to
his forehead, trying to decide what to do next. Before he knew what, the female
mistook his gesture as one of open-arms and she slammed her writhing body into
his rock-hard chest.
Her arms went around him and she
was holding him so tight that for a moment he doubted her womanhood.
Uncertain as to what he should do,
he brought up a hand to soothe over the back of her head in an effort to comfort
her as he whispered, "There, there pretty lady. It'll be okay. You've been
through quite an ordeal."
Fayne nodded as she continued to
bawl - feeling quite sorry for herself. And it was all her brother's fault for
scaring her into this situation.
Once she'd come to grips with her
emotions, Nick held her away from him and suggested, "Let's get you back
to civilization, okay? My ranch is a stone's throw from here and we can call
for help from there."
She nodded, accepting the neckerchief
that Nick pulled from around his neck and handed to her. No doubt that the black
goo would ruin it, but it was better than looking at her in this state, he went
on to muse through the silence as Fayne dabbed her face with the cologne-scented
neckerchief.
