Bianca spent most of the day unpacking the personal things that Cotton had carted up from Calico Blue for her. The foreman had made a complete recovery and seemed quite interested in the ranch's new houseguest. Gilda had watched the move in silence, her stiff form ever present when Bianca looked up. She would have given anything to read the woman's thoughts, but of course, that was impossible. She didn't see Rebel until the evening meal. She had chosen the blue glittering gown with careful consideration and was rewarded with an appreciative glance.
He sat at the head of the small diving table and Bianca to his right. He had a ridiculous white flag in his hand and he waved it after she had entered the dining room, and she couldn't help but giggle. "Well? Do we have a truce? Or are you going to torture me because I forced you to stay here?" he wanted to know, his face holding an almost innocent look - even though they both knew he was guilty. "Okay. A truce it is," she smiled, unable to remain angry with him for the moment. "Your hand?" He eyed the white bandage thoughtfully then said, "A bit touchy. But I'm a strong cuss."
