A total of eight weeks had passed since Bianca's incident with Cabe Brown. Her leg had mended well and if not for a four-inch scar on her upper thigh, she had emerged unscathed. As for Rebel Lancer, his men had repaired the broken fences and now grazed the cattle along the southern pasturelands, away from Calico Blue.
Mitzi was in the house preparing an evening meal for the two of them. She thoroughly enjoyed cooking but Bianca was not certain her sudden outburst of happiness stemmed from that.
