So, this was Rebel Lancer; not nearly the foreboding picture Mitzi had conjured him up to be. And so young; more her sister's young age than her own she silently estimated, continuing to size up the enemy. Tall, dark and devastatingly handsome, but the look of power? Bianca failed to see that attribute mirrored on the young face. This was a boyish statue before her, the shadow of a man not yet cast.

Without further hesitation she closed the gap between them while the housekeeper stumbled out a meager excuse for the intruder's unwelcome entrance, then she discretely disappeared.

"Mr. Lancer, I want a word with you," Bianca began, Mitzi still stationed where her angry sister had left her. "I'm Bianca Curtis, owner of the neighboring ranch, Calico Blue. You know - the one ranch that you haven't managed to swindle away," she torched him. "And this is my sister, Mitzi, whom I am sure you have already met," she continued, half turning for the introduction, then the male spoke to her for the first time.

"Oh yes, I am well aquatinted with your sister, Ms. Curtis," he rendered and Bianca turned and tossed the traitor, Mitzi, a hostile glance.

Then she continued, "Mr. Lancer, I didn't come to your ranch to discuss acquaintances. This visit is about your large brute cattle upon which you enforce little control! They break right through the barbwire fences separating our properties as if they were made of twine! Our sheep scatter - the hens have become useless - they haven't produced in weeks," she added swiftly. "And one of your bulls tried to breed Maude -"
