The warm breeze had feathered her hair along the drive and it was much higher than usual. Using the rearview mirror she tried to flatten it as best as she could, then she shrugged and exited the jeep. Mitzi had already made her paranoid regarding her attire no sense on redirecting that insecurity to her hair.

After entering the elaborately decorated office she adjusted her sea blue eyes to the dark lighting and recognized a woman stationed at the large carved oak desk. She remembered her from long ago when she had accompanied her father here before his illness.

" You have an appointment, Ms.?" the woman plied, her voice sounding deep and dark, like the room.

Bianca delivered a false fragment of a smile then told her, " Yes, dear."

The woman lifted her brows and plied, " Your name?"

" Bianca Curtis."

" Oh. So you're the one," she commented in a dull tone, as if Bianca was associated with some plague. " Then I suggest that you go on back. That darling Cabe Brown has been here a good hour. You are very late, Ms. Curtis," she scolded, pointing the lead of her pencil to a ridiculous looking watch that resembled a striking cobra.
