Ten minutes later as she soared by the Lancer spread, Bianca tossed a scowl to the ranch silhouetted in the bright sunshine. That renegade, Rebel, had done nothing to shield her innocent sheep from his menacing brute cattle. Fences were still gorged with Samson-sized holes and the grazing grounds were dwindling with each passing day.

Rebel had taken advantage of her incapacitated state, she hotly fumed along the drive. If he believed saving her life was going to pardon his ineptness then he had another thing coming! That day on the cliff, he had only been in the right place at the right time. Any one of the other cowboys who had run to the scene would have reacted in the same manner she silently convinced herself.

At least the day was gorgeous she decided as she studied the enchanting blue sky, threaded with white puffy clouds. An almost perfect day.

Keywest was an empty-looking hole with only a handful of browsing patrons. Bianca tensed her lips noting that all the shoppers were older ones. Then she remembered it was Thursday, Senior Citizens' Day, the day when the local gray van collected the elderly and loosed them on the town. No wonder Cabe Brown had insisted on meeting her today.

She pulled the jeep into an empty slot in front of the insurance office then slipped the gear stick into park. The day was bright so she had chosen to leave the top down. Jake North, the foreman, had been riding the little sheepdog Buddy inside the jeep and it needed a good airing out. It still reeked of the little monster.

It was a safe town, and especially so on Senior Citizens' Day. Nonetheless, it would take guts of iron from anyone ambitious enough to ponder stealing the rank pink jeep.
