Mitzi shrugged then flopped her head back onto the sofa arm. " You did hit the poor old thing, Bianca. And it's a good thing that his little dog wasn't riding shotgun with him or there would be hell to pay. Digger is more sacred than a cow in India."

She knitted her brows and tacked on, " It's a shame that you aren't going shopping instead. I might have accompanied you."

She eyed Bianca negatively and with another thoughtful expression told her, " You know, you could use a new wardrobe. The only thing that I have seen you in since you hit the ranch is jeans or pants. And you used to dress so feminine."

At Bianca's harsh glance she attempted a smile and rectified, " However, this is much better than the pajamas you've been wearing for the last few weeks."

Mitzi's verbal massacre on her attire hit a sour note causing Rebel Lancer to suddenly spring to mind. Her sister's thoughts paralleled so well with his - and Bianca resented the fact. She tensed her lips, eyeing her sister skeptically. " Well, I wouldn't want to interfere with your hectic day, Mitzi."

She meaningfully eyed the magazine and the half-eaten chocolate that Mitzi was fondling but her sister's eyes were practically glued to the glossy sheets again. Bianca tightened her lips with impatience then told her, " If you happen to run into Jake tell him I'll be back late this evening."

Mitzi mumbled something inaudible, her mind obviously far away as Bianca left her.
