Painted Promises, an Online Romance by Sky Taylor - Page 71 The crush of the ocean roared inside her ears as she searched into the near-distance for Bo. She had been running a bit late herself, assuming that he would be here waiting for her. Perhaps she had been too late, she went on to contemplate. Maybe Bo had returned to the manor. High tide had already receded, the sea looking almost shallow next to the beach line. Although she was an excellent swimmer, she wasn't about to take a swim alone. Instead, she began walking next to the shore, searching for shells in hopes that Bo would soon put in an appearance. A few yards down the beach, a huge obstacle caught her attention and she hastened her steps, almost sprinting towards the object. A monstrous section of coral reef lay embedded in the sand. The coral was about a foot long and several inches in diameter. It would make a lovely keepsake. Kneeling in the sand, her knees pressed into its cushiony depth. As she studied it at a closer range, she wondered how she could collect the coral without cutting herself. A shadow was cast across the sand, Karina looking up to seize Bo's handsome form. Today he had chosen to wear a khaki-colored set of swim trunks.
