Mail Order Bride, a short story by Sky Taylor - Page 6 Fanny stepped into the opening of the stagecoach, Travis' eyes wide with shock as he saw her and when she glanced up to check her footing, their eyes connected, Fanny sending him a shy smile. Auburn hair, tiny waist and generous mounds all in the right places. He almost fell over his filthy boots as he practically ran over to assist her off the stage. "Travis?" she asked, batting her eyes swiftly at him, looking a bit coy. "Yes," he eased out, infatuated with the beautiful and fragile-looking Fanny. "You must be Fanny," he said, feeling like a fool. "Yes. I-I hope that you're not disappointed," she eased out, perhaps fishing. Disappointed? He'd really be a fool then. Nan waltzed quickly over to them, grabbing Travis' hand and shaking it gingerly. "Well, I wish that I could stay for the ceremony, but if I don't take the late stage then I'll be stuck here for two more days," she told them. "Yeah, you sure wouldn't want to miss that stage," Travis eased out, the thought of Nan on the honeymoon just painful. He quickly tacked on, "But please plan to come and visit for a spell once Fanny sets up house? I'd like that, Nan." "Oh, what a dear man," she giggled, quite pleased with the invite. "I'll do just that." The Concubine (25 pages) Kade narrowed his eyes at her through the sunglasses as she attacked again, her mouth so sunburned that it looked like a blow fish.
