Removing his hat, he drew in a breath - deciding it was time to paint Miss Fantanna into a corner. No way was this flat-chested female going to crook him out of his hard-earned cash. "Miss Fantanna, with all due respect I assure you that I did not misrepresent myself," he began. "I own a small ranch, a few head of cattle and I've a plan in my head to take that and go far. As for the boots, they bare my efforts in the pasture this morning. If I would have known they would have offended you, I would have taken time to change them out - even at the cost of arriving late." "I see," she slowly eased out, looking a bit thoughtful, lifting her brows as she digested his comments. "Then this changes everything," she continued, Travis stiffening in the process. "I gather that you would like to call the marriage off, right?" "Oh no! Quite the contrary," she tossed out, dabbing her forehead again, Travis considering that she could squeeze at least a gallon of sweat out of that hanky.
