Jenny Justice, a Free Online Love Story by Sky Taylor - Page 2
“Yes - tell her the truth,” Charity reasoned, being the most logical of the group if not the most clumsy. “I’ve already spent more time away from the toy shop than I should have and Charlie’s probably wringing his hands with worry. They sweat, you know,” Charity tossed out, both women nodding as they were well-aware of Charlie’s affliction - which is how Charity had coined such. Faith gleaned over her friend’s current nervous state with wise eyes. Christmas was indeed the toy store’s busiest time of year and she was aware that Charity was making a sacrifice by being here. As for Charlie, he’d been a perfect match for the over-anxious Charity she mused as her mind instantly drifted back into time to their high school days… Charity had just moved to the small town of Bug Tussle and the new classmates had been very cruel to her, as so often is the case. Charity had been an outsider - an outsider lacking in grace and good looks but almost-instantly Charity, Hope, Jenny and herself had become instant friends - the quickly-forged friendship growing stronger over time - a sisterhood. Even now, Faith decided that her dear friend Charity looked like an apple-head doll - so ugly that she was cute. But for whatever grace and looks Charity lacked, her outgoing personality had quickly charmed her classmates, and by the following year she had cinched the position of head cheerleader. Hope also made cheerleader and was well-liked by her classmates. There wasn’t a snobby bone in Hope’s body, Faith went on to decide amid her short trip down memory lane as time was of the essence, Jenny due to arrive momentarily. But for some inane reason, Charity couldn’t move forward until she dealt with her Hope, Faith, Charity and Jenny Thoughts which had been the beginning of their journey together. So many twists - so many turns. Hope. She was the over-analyst of the group, although gullible when it came to their friend Charity who had been able to talk her into anything and everything.
