"Woe!" he halted her with a laugh, then she was surprised as one rugged arm went around her soft shoulder. His warm, sweet breath fanned over her suddenly flush face as she timidly glanced into the handsome face.

"It seems that I have misjudged you, Cadence."

She was self-conscious in the shadow of his probing glance, the old dress adding to her insecurities.

Banner felt her softness under his embrace. Did she know how beautiful, how alluring and innocent she appeared? He should not be touching her, but he seemed powerless against her.
