Banner watched her walk away feeling as if she were walking out of his life forever.  Will was seeming less and less a factor in his relationship with Cadence; Taj no longer mattered. It was just a case of breaking off the engagement. Nonetheless, there was no denying what he felt for Cadence; it was love. When it had happened he did not know - perhaps only moments ago when she had boldly traced his lips. He wasn't giving Rob Whitney the chance of being alone with her; too much was at stake. His decision was made as he reached for the phone and dialed out.

Cadence dressed carefully for the evening in tight jeans and a pink sequined top, another generous donation from Brandy and perfect for skating. It was almost seven o'clock when she entered the den and she was momentarily stunned as Banner approached from behind her.

She turned, her eyes going curiously over his rugged Levi's and cotton shirt. The spicy scent of his cologne drifted to her and she inhaled the manly scent, her pulses suddenly soaring for some reason.
