She gasped, his words shocking her. He'd insinuated that she was vulgar and that was totally unfair! She sped past him going to help Cookie who only waved her away.

When she passed Mak again she bit out without thinking, "Perhaps I can use the ones that Uncle purchased for me. Maybe a crotch digger would fit in better with this wild bunch."

She heard Mak laugh but she continued to stomp to her horse.

Mounting Goliath was very difficult and Mak just looked at her, not even offering a helping hand. Several of the men had started over to help but he had waved them back, refusing to let them touch her.
