Free Love Story - a Sky Taylor romance - Chapter 1 - Page 1

It was January and Australia was in the full peak of summer. It had been snowing when Shannon left New York only a few hours ago. She was amazed at the rate of distance the commercial jet had traveled across the globe in such a short time, not only transporting her to a different country, but a different season as well.

Eager tourists and weary travelers shoved and strained to exit the silver bird in haste. Shannon and her friend, Katrina, patiently waited for the rush to recede, then they took the twins, disembarked from the plane and followed the arrows pointing to the large area marked 'Baggage Claims'.

The airport was stifling as the air conditioner was on the fritz. Tempers seemed to flare and a small, dark woman dressed in a red suit and a matching fedora was yelling anxiously at the man stationed at the desk. His face swiftly matched the colors worn by the woman in red and it was several lingering moments before he could be rid of her. It seemed as if her luggage had been left behind - in New York, and according to the woman in red, a mistake that the airline would live to regret.

Shannon waited patiently, cuddling her newborn twin sons while Katrina collected the few bags they had brought along. The man at the desk seemed grateful to her friend for being so complaisant, especially after his ordeal with the woman in red.
