The night was restless and miserable. Josie was certain she had contracted some sort of fever for her delicate skin felt ablaze. She was shivering and pacing around the dead campfire when Diamond finally stirred to life.

It took him a moment to focus under the new sunrise but his head finally followed the direction of her chattering teeth. The dark eyes widened and his handsome face snarled into a deliberate scowl as he studied her small, quivering form.

She winced her mouth and through the growing sunlight informed, "I'm ill if you must know - and I have been all night! I probably caught my death in that filthy cantina that Simon hauled me into." She paused and continued to mumble between shivers, "Either that or it's an aftershock from that batch of food you cooked in filthy water."

Diamond narrowed his eyes at her and drawled, "God, I hope so. It would be much simpler burying you, Josie Rodgers. You're more trouble than you're worth!"

She gasped and instantly paused in her tracks. Diamond had began piling twigs onto the ashes of the evening fire, stroking a new fire to life. It was a fool thing to do for the air was already humid and sultry - too hot for her liking.

"You unrighteous pig! I should have expected such a statement from you," she spat out, her eyes flashing wildly as she observed his arrogant form. "And I see no reason to add heat to this hell-like climate! Can't you do without your morning cup of coffee just this once?"
