She tightened her lips and ordered the mute Kent, "Get our mounts! We can't leave this godforsaken country soon enough for my liking!"

"Pooky?"Diamond echoed and Josie immediately warned, "Don't you even dare."

Kent continued, oblivious to Diamond's mocking stance, "The mule was stolen from me about five miles from here. It-it was quite an ordeal."

Josie mellowed, mirroring concern. "Kent, you weren't harmed, were you?"

Kent shook his head and thoughtfully relayed, "No, but I must say that I've never seen a female bandit before. She was a bit rough - know what I mean? She er...flashed me, pooky. Was enough for me. I didn't want to chance her pulling a pistol out of er....a hidden spot."

Diamond laughed, Josie flashing him a warning look which instantly silenced him. Josie wasn't happy and wanted to strangle Kent at the moment. His explanations sometimes ran longer than molasses. She had all but forgotten about that unsightly trait, she tacked onto her spiraling thoughts.

Kent continued, "Besides, we don't need the mule anymore. We are staying here with Diamond and make our fortune. You will not believe the deal that he has offered me!"
