"I'm throwing a coming home party for mother-" "You are? Oh darling!" Ruth gushed, obviously delighted. "I-I love parties. Do you think that you could prepare something yummy for the party, Kassi?" "Yes, of course," Kassi assured. Then to Bret she asked, "So what kind of flowers did you settle upon?" Placing a hand over his chin, he looked rather thoughtful as he asked her, "I didn't. What kind would you choose if you were me?" "Oh - but it's not my vase-" "Yes, but you do have an opinion, right?" he challenged. "What kind of flowers would you showcase in the vase, Kassi?"
Smiling faintly, she told him, "Well, I happen to fancy dandelions and cattails. They would look very pretty against the blue." When Bret did not respond, she continued, "Of course, it is your vase and I would think that you would fill an object so beautiful with something worthy of its beauty - with expensive blooms and flowers." "Kassi, sometimes the most simple things in life are the most precious. And I think that dandelions and cattails would look great in the vase. I'll ask George to tend to the task," Bret decided and when her face relaxed and smiled it made him feel good because he knew that his words had pleased her.
