Saddle Tramp - (47
pages)
Her smile instantly died as she spied the pair of red panties blowing in the summer
breeze from the clothesline next to the house. Worse yet, Vic had the audacity to join them and when she turned, his eyes were fixed upon her panties. To hide her embarrassment, she tensed her lips and told him in a tight tone, " Cameo's." Vic stifled a laugh, knowing full-well who the owner of those hot, red panties were. Cameo couldn't fit into them if her life depended upon it. Even so, he made a note to do his own laundry during his stay. Wouldn't be good for the cowboys to see his undergear flying in the breeze. click to continue The Nanny - (47 pages) A short love story with a twist. click to continue The Chimney Sweeper - {13 pages) Accident-prone Heather gets more than she bargained for during a visit to her grandfather's country home.click to continue |
Big Gun, Little Shooter, A Quick Book Romance by Sky Taylor - Page 2 "Devil!" Ace spat out, the frustration in his voice not going missed by Jedi who suddenly flared his lips to reveal snow-white choppers, perhaps making a bold statement to the greenhorn he knew Ace to be. Ace rolled up his nose and threatened, "Keep that up and I'll paint those lips white - and then you'll look like the useless clown that you really are!" His foreman Joe chuckled below his breath, then settled back against the fencing beside Ace who followed suit. Joe mocked, "Think it's safe to move back into the line of fire, boss? And what have you been feeding him to make him smell like that? Garbanzo beans?" "Nothing but the best, Joe - I assure you. I may not have horse sense when it comes to picking out winners, but grandfather did manage to teach me a thing or two before he passed on." "Too bad it wasn't about buying horses," Joe remarked in a deadpan tone, shoving up his Stetson in the process as he delivered Ace a sideward glance. "Nothing disrespectful, boss - you know that. It's just....well, why in the devil didn't you ask for a little free advice before cocky old Sneed snookered you into buying this giant-sized can of dog food? That's all he's good for, ya know?" There was that word again. Snookered. And Joe loved rubbing it in. "Thanks for pointing that out, Joe. Just made my day," Ace mocked, a bit tired of talking about mistakes when it was past-time for solutions. As to Joe’s reference to Jack Sneed, there wasn’t a cocky bone in the man’s body. His soon-to-be ex-wife had all but crushed his spirit. Jack had been sincere when he’d sold the horse to him, telling him that he hoped to use the money to take his wife Jen on a second honeymoon. She’d always wanted to go to France, he’d told Ace.
