His ice-blue eyes claimed her face as he challenged, "Want to take a swig, just to make sure?" Probably laced with liquor, Lori decided as she narrowed her eyes at him. Obviously, she didn't believe him, Hawk decided. He told her, "Look, you scared the devil out of me, I saw you dangling over the mountain and I knew I had to try and make a rescue. Then before I could even exit my car, here you come - bellowing like some she-cow, calling me ridiculous names, tossing out accusations before you even had the full story-" "Are you insane?" she questioned, breaking him off as she tightened her lips. "I was never in any danger - whatsoever, once I steered clear of you, that is!"
The stranger made a face at her, then pointed in the distance, Lori following his index finger which led to her blue Mustang. "No danger?" he asked with a mocking laugh. "You call that no danger?" Lori barely caught sight of the Mustang as it riveted over the mountain to the valley below as she stood locked in a state of shock.
