Pussy Cato's Dance With Death A short love story by Sky Taylor George eyed the cat weaving in the distance as he tensed his lips. Not good. Not good at all. Obviously, Gilda's wayward kitty had broken into the trash bin again. But this time, liquor was the kicker - the remains from the bachelor party he'd thrown for his best friend, Dave last night. He touched his throbbing head as he vaguely remembered the evening. Not that he'd had that much to drink - just too much noise which had given him one devil of a headache. Now this. Gilda thought the moon rose and set on her rotten cat, one drunken little kitty at the moment. Wonder what the effects of alcohol were on a cat, he silently rummaged through his thoughts. No doubt the garbage rustler would need a quick trip to the vet's office. Best get Gilda and inform her of the sorry situation. Gilda - God how he loved that woman. They were still anchored in newlywed bliss, but the news of kitty's dance with death was certain to put a dent in their loving relationship. Then again, he'd never met so one who was so kind and understanding - even about the bachelor's party that he'd thrown for Dave. She had nonchalantly slipped away to enjoy a night out with the girls, and had arrived back home shortly before midnight, George missing her terrifically. It had been the first evening since they'd been married in which they had spent apart. "Kitty, kitty, kitty!" he called out to Kitty who was still weaving in the distance. Not good. Not good at all. When Kitty didn't respond, George made his way over to him, pausing to examine the trash bin in hopes of seeing just how much damage had been inflicted upon Kitty. However, he stood shocked in place to find the trash bin securely latched. Shifting his focus to Kitty, he noticed the golf ball laying a few feet in the distance. Then it struck him, mentally - not literally like it had Kitty. The ball, that is. Obviously, his hot-shot golfer neighbor had hung a zinger into the air which had zeroed in on Kitty. George scooped up Kitty, thinking that Gilda would know if a trip to the vet was still in order. Perhaps if Kitty made a fast recovery, there would time for some early morning cuddling. Now that would really be the cat's meow, George decided as he carried Kitty back into the house, hoping for a miraculous recovery.

Brand a Cowboy - {19 pages) "Jenna, this doesn't mean that we can't date - or that we still can't be friends," Buck tried to point out, never seeing her so uncooperative. Generally she was as good as gold, agreeing with most everything he suggested. Except for moving in with him and the sex factor, he tacked on in thought. "Just not girlfriend and boyfriend," she mocked, stomping her booted foot in the process against the dirt floor of the barn. click to read English Ivy - {16 pages) "Why yes," she managed, batting her eyes swiftly over the handsome male who had rescued her. He wasn't overly tall, yet the white Stetson he was wearing made him appear as such. From what she could glimpse beneath the hat, he had a mop of blond hair which was nowhere near a military cut. More like an American hippie from the history pages of yesteryear, she went on to decide amid her analysis. The golden tan, the flashing white teeth and the shadow of a beard soared up Ivy's flared nostrils as she drank in the fresh air mixed with he-man. read
